Dear Praying Friends
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Jannette and I thank YOU for your prayers and faithful support for the ministries of Christian Retreat, the Institute of Ministry, and Gospel Crusade International Missions! This has been a year of great blessing—for our family and ministry.
Our youngest son, Steven, graduated from Manatee Technical College this year and is now heading up Security at Christian Retreat, together with his service dog, Kai. We are proud of Steven.
And our oldest daughter, Amy, is pregnant with our first grandbaby, a boy! Congratulations, Justin and Amy!
Jannette and I have been out on Glory Way Blvd this past week putting up lights to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, over this Christmas Season. We pray that thousands of people will feel the presence of God as they drive through our Boulevard of Lights during the month of December. On December 15 we have a walk-through dramatization, ”Night in Bethlehem,” and our Winter Festival here at Christian Retreat.
It’s a great season to share theGospel of Jesus Christ!
I’m thrilled that the roof on Miracle Manor is complete. The metal facing on the roof mansard gives an all new look to our housing facilities. NOW we are moving forward on a renovation of the guest rooms. This building is essential to the many guests, youth and children who come here to get connected to the power and presence of God.
We have a great lineup of guest speakers again for our 2019 Winter Conference Season: “Times of Refreshing” in the presence of the Lord, Acts 3:19. We hope you’re making plans to attend. Get more info on line at www.ChristianRetreat.org or simply ask for the Speaker Schedule flyer and we will send it to you. Don’t forget, the Institute of Ministry (IOM) begins January 15, 2019, ten glorious weeks of teaching on the power of the Holy Spirit. YOU can enroll in the IOM and experience Christian Retreat all winter long. Enroll now at www.InstituteOfMinistry.com
You are cordially invited to Homecoming Week, January 9-13, 2019. The Annual Partners Banquet on Friday night will be a great time of celebration and update on what we are accomplishing together throughout the world.
Now for a couple highlights from our International Missions….
We had a wonderful time in Israel, 24 of us, where we visited some of the believers we’ve built relationships with over the years. What a privilege to pray with them and encourage them in the faith! I spent time in prayer at the Western Wall, where I placed your requests…
Thanks for your support for the new church we’re building in Bois Léger, Haiti. The original church and parsonage was built by Gospel Crusade in 1961. The earthquake of 2010 destroyed the church building and now we are completing the construction of an all new “earthquake proof” structure for the glory of God. The church is scheduled for dedication in February 2019. Pray that my father will be able to travel with us to conduct this historic dedication.
Thanks for helping us complete the second floor of the Miracle Children’s Home in Kadali, India, where I traveled for the dedication in October. This new construction doubles the capacity of the home to care for these precious little ones and is a blessing to the entire region. I’m thrilled also that a second Sewing School is now in operation, giving women life-changing career opportunities and a platform for us to preach the love of Christ. Both pastor leaders in India are graduates of our Institute of Ministry. What a joy to see them producing much fruit!
Thanksgiving was a wonderful time of celebration, giving thanks to God for all he has done. But don’t forget, the Bible teaches us to give thanks BEFORE we see the answer… to PRAY with Thanksgiving, and to give thanks ALWAYS and IN EVERYTHING (Phil. 4:6, Eph. 5:20, I Thess. 5:18). That’s because Thanksgiving is an act of FAITH. When we thank God BEFORE seeing the answer, we put a demand upon His promise and a divine power is released to bring it to pass. This month I’d like to send you my teaching on “Faith with Thanksgiving.”
Will you sow a Thanksgiving Offering this month? Your end-of-the-year seed will help fund IOM scholarships for future leaders—the gift that keeps on giving and produces eternal rewards! When you sow, your promise of harvest is found in II Corinthians 9:11, “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will resultin thanksgiving to God.”
